The hunt is predominantly carried out as a lock-hunt, where dummy birds are used and the courtship sounds of the birds are imitated.

Whitetail deer hunting

The white-tailed deer is a widespread game in the USA. In New York State in the future (presumably from 2020 onwards) we will have the opportunity to hunt for this species in a hunting area. The area is a private area, but bordering on a huge state land, which can be mitbejagt with the same license. Our partner has equipped the area with many accommodation facilities of simple metal heads, which are common in the USA, but also with closed pulpits, which allow good dwellings even in winter and in rain / snow. The hunt takes place mainly in the morning and evening at the Ansitz in special places which are often visited by the game.

Climate:

The temperate climate in New York is characterized by a warm summer and a cold winter. The average temperature is 16.6 degrees. In January, it is the coldest with an average of 3.5 degrees. Despite its proximity to the Atlantic Ocean, its moderate influence by the wind off the coast is very low. In July, the average is 28.9 degrees and marks the highest average temperature in the “Big Apple”. The monthly mean values are between five and seven degrees apart. Low temperatures are common on winter nights. Also, values are possible that are well below freezing. Precipitation falls very evenly throughout the year, averaging ten days a month. Both seasons are considered changeable. In summer, warm temperatures and high humidity make for thunderstorms. In winter, however, it is often very sunny despite low temperatures.
